Shunsuke Yagi
Ph.D. Materials Science and EngineeringDr. Shunsuke Yagi is the deputy director of Research Center for Sustainable Materials and Energy Integration and an Associate Professor (also FY2018 The University of Tokyo Excellent Young Researcher) at Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo, and heads a research group as a principal investigator. He was a Visiting Scientist of Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Prof. Rupp’s group, Prof. Allanore's group), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from July 2018 to May 2019. He received his B.S. (2002), M.S. (2004), and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Kyoto University. After his graduation, he was affiliated as Assistant Professor at Kyoto University (2007–2011), Special Lecturer at Osaka Prefecture University (2011–2016), and Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo (2016–present). An assistant to the President since 2023. He specializes in materials electrochemistry, energy conversion/storage materials, and wet surface treatment.

-Visiting associate research fellow Dr. Tomasz Mikolajczyk, Assistant Professor at University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, who was in the lab from June to September 2022, returned to Poland in September 2022.
-Mr. Nobuhito Nakatani, Vice President and Representative Director of Nakabohtec Corrosion Protecting Co., Ltd., assumed the position in April 2022, replacing Mr. Hajime Myoi, former President and Representative Director, who served as a research advisor from April 2021 to March 2022.
-Ms. Minako Iga, Administrative Assistant, has retired in March 2021.
-In 2016, Dr. Akihiro Yoshimura, a postdoctoral researcher at Okabe Lab, who had been assisting us in setting up our laboratory and conducting experiments, was appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor at Chiba University.
-Ms. Keiko Ishii, Administrative Assistant, has retired in June 2019.
-Ms. Mika Kakuma (Hatakeyama), Administrative Assistant, has retired in March 2018.
